Episode 7

A Beer Report tribute to New Orleans. We cant say better late than never, but we had it on tape and decided to add to the glut of garbage on the internet.

Beers on the show: Black Voodoo by the Dixieland Brewery and 3 Philosophers by Ommegang. (Not all the beers are a tribute!)

Other parts of note:
  1. Faux lays down the intro
  2. Brother CHUD talks about his experience in Orlando with 3 Hurricanes
  3. A special hurricane drink recipe
  4. Corked Beer
  5. Laughing in a glass?
  6. Road trip beer report? Bob Walkenhorst concert trip?
  7. Any listeners out there? Wal-Mart customers, Mormons and much more!

Click Here to download episode 7

All beers on the show this week purchased at UFS in Peoria IL.

Thanks David... Yeah, we were wondering who dredges the depths of iTunes and stumbles upon out mess.

Desperate....? Probably.

Any tips on a good beer?

Golly Sokushi... I imagine we could drink anything you want to send.... CHUD is ready to help as well.

Let us know,

Grouch

Hey, I'm listening to the show. It sounds great. I'm thinking about applying for the position of "Mormon Prophet". I've had a couple of visions I'd like to tell them about.

We should get together and have a Guiness over the holidays. I like Guiness. (Don't tell Kurt)

Holy Hamstring, Groucho. How "porn" is this blog becoming? Look at your fucking picture!

Ok, I am just about to ingest Beer Report after Beer Report. You kids ground me.

Love your show. I'll repost after the "sampling" and we'll see if any cogency remains . . .

Most honorable sokushi_san, first of all, quit lying. By telling us you would send us beer, implying you listen to the show, you are obviously the least honorable sokushi_san. But that's why you're cool. Unfortunatley, we would have to give out our exact location, which could get us, well, really just me, hurt by the locals. Maybe we need to set up a po box in a different city....

Hey Hawg... Thanks for the support and for dredging the depths.

Do we smack talk? I dont remember talking to CHUD any other way. Even when he was a little tadpole.

I hope you ride to work alone.

As for the IPA. We have only sampled one. Bear Republic's Racer 5. Sometimes we are kind of limited by the Pekin liquor stores. CHUD, can we effort this request?

CHUD, when picking your PO box city, stay the hell away from Low Point. City Council just dropped a grand and a half on a new shingle job for Town Hall and it'd just be a shame to lose it to a fucking dirty bomb.

Great show guys.

Oh, and Estry drank MY last Guinness yesterday. Hmph.

OK, a couple of things... Estry needs to have a sister, or "close cousin", that can hook up with CHUD. She sounds more and more like his type. Watch her close Kurt.

As for the pic, I am a media whore. Anything to get a click through.

Eggs, I would love to hear some of those prophesies... Who knows, we could create a new religion by the time we are done!

Actually I've been doing this in my spare time for years. I once prohpesized...uhm predicted... that Kurt would get punched out by an Armenian tailor with a hidden passion for artichoke ice cream, at the dessert bar of a four star hotel. See, I'm specific. None of the typical bullshit generalites that most prophets deal in.

Can one ship beer across state lines without landing in the pokey, the hooscow, the slammer, the big house? - Anyway Old Dominion Brewing Company (http://www.olddominion.com/) is right down the street from here. They put out some good seasonal stuff along with some tasty standard brews.
- There are also a good chunk of microbreweries out here on the east coast that have good availability where I'm at. There is Troegs (http://www.troegs.com/) up north in PA. All there beers are good. The Troegenator Double Bock is an outstanding brew.
- Another one, Dogfish Head in Deleware puts out some good stuff. A friend and I drank a four pack of overpriced yet really fucking good Midas Touch Elixer (http://www.dogfish.com/beer/midastouch.cfm).

On another topic: I ran into 3 Philosophers over here at the local Wegman's. I wouldn't have even recognized it if it wasn't for your show. Had it at Thanksgiving over at the in-laws house. It was frickin' awesome. Just like you guys said, first swig is "whoa", after that it slides down very well. I wish I had picked up more than one bottle.

An import you guys might want to try if you can find it is Skullsplitter. Named after a viking, it comes from the Orkney Islands. Another overpriced four pack small bottle brew, Skullspitter is really strong with a good malty flavor. Its one of my personal favorites.

Anyway, I am already on a major ramble. I enjoy your show. Drag is I typically listen in the car with the iPod. Not a good place to drink along. If you guys come up with a way to submit beers, I'm willing to ship a few.

Looking forward to your next show!

Most Honorable Bubby! Thanks for that info. I think I can get most of that stuff at the Peoria Big Box liquor store... You may not have to send anything!

I will keep you posted!

Glad you had a great bottle of beer at Thanksgiving. I wish I could say the same! I ended up in Iowa at the alcohol free in-laws! God Damn! Talk about being in Hell!

As for listening in the car. Been there. Our mentor program The Real Happy Hour is normally heard in my car first... I cant wait to listen to it while throwing a few back with CHUD.

Thanks again for listening, I will keep you posted on your recommended selections. A new show is in production now. Hopefully we will have it out soon.

Thanks photo man... Let me be the first to say how uneasy I am with your expectations...

What the Hell though... Columbus took a chance!

Enjoy our 1/2 hour of midwest beer snob bitchdom.

Oh I'm enjoying it so far. Listening to episode 7 now. :-D Don't tell the guys at Real Happy Hour, but I'm more of a beer man than gin man. I wouldn't consider myself a beer snob (yet), but I'm midwestern too. Born and raised in McHenry county... yee haw! Do you guys have Binny's Beverage Depot stores out by you? They've got a nice selection of specialty beers in the store nearest me (Niles, IL). I started up my own little thing like the Oprah Book Club, but it's more of a beer club. I'm the only member and it just involves me trying out whatever specialty beers I feel like taking a chance on that week.
Cheers!

I still love you Kurt.
...and Estry too.

Maybe Estry a bit more than Kurt - it's a guy thing.
